QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Always punctual.
- Demonstrated safe driving record.
- Demonstrated ability to perform custodial and special duties as assigned.
- Demonstrated ability to lift 35-60 pounds.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid First Aid Card.
- Must be able to read and write the English language and be able to follow basic oral and written directions.
- Must have high expectations and standards of job performance.
- Must be able to work well with adults and children.
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of efficiency and attention to detail.
- Must be a self-starter and demonstrate the ability to work independently with a high degree of efficiency and attention to details.
- Routine cleaning duties will include emptying trash, mopping and disinfecting floors, cleaning and disinfecting sinks, mirrors and toilet bowls, urinals and pipes.
- Ability to make sure that toilets, urinals, faucets and drains are working properly.
- Ability to replace hand soap, paper towels and tissue supplies as needed.
- Ability to clean doors, partitions, walls, ceilings and replace lights as needed.
- Ability to vacuum all carpeted areas, empty pencil sharpeners and dust all ledges and other surfaces.
- Ability to clean, setup and put away tables after meals.
- Ability to participate in site-based decision making process.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Description:
- Sweep, mop, wax, buff and scrub floors; vacuum and clean carpets; clean restrooms; empty and clean waste receptacles.
- Dust, wax, wash and polish furniture and woodwork; wash windows, walls and blinds; polish metal work.
- Move and arrange furniture as may be required.
- Perform minor building maintenance or repairs; issue work orders for major repairs.
- Unlock and lock buildings.
- Prepare buildings for meetings and programs.
- Remove snow and ice from sidewalks and other areas as required.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, students, staff, parents and public using principles of good customer services.
- Other duties as may be required by building administrator.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Appropriate technical training or two to four years related experience, or equivalent combination.
- Valid Washington state driver’s license preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, good time management skills, punctual, trustworthy, dependable, honest, safety conscious.
- Physical ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, crawl, lift, reach, pull, and climb as required to satisfactorily perform required duties.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and safety regulations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist.
